ABOUT VERTIREX

A new chapter. A continuing pursuit.

I’m Dima, a climber, retired U.S. Army special operations veteran, and volunteer on a technical search and rescue team. Based in Colorado, I’m building a life around rock, ice, and alpine terrain.

I’m drawn to demanding challenges that require commitment, resourcefulness, and composure. I’m willing to step into uncertainty and face difficult situations, while respecting the risks and knowing when to change course. What matters is how we prepare, make decisions, and look after the people beside us.

My military and rescue experience shapes that approach. Preparation, teamwork, and responsibility remain central to how I move through the mountains. Alongside the challenge, I value the trust built between partners and the satisfaction of working toward a shared objective.

Why Vertirex?

Vertirex is where I share that pursuit: climbing experiences, lessons from the mountains, and reflections on the equipment I use. It also brings together my interest in technology and building practical tools, starting with a climbing logbook designed to make recording experience straightforward.

My aim is to share something useful, whether it’s an insight from a difficult outing, a lesson worth carrying forward, or a tool that makes another climber’s day easier.

The path ahead

My goals include pursuing AMGA Rock Guide certification and taking part in international alpine expeditions. I’m building toward those objectives through continued climbing, training, and learning from others.

Vertirex follows that work as it unfolds: the experiences that shape me, the people I learn alongside, and the challenges still ahead.
